Educational Qualifications: Schooling up to 7th Standard from General Raj Shankaran Memorial School, New Delhi/India. Schooling from Class 8th to 10th from a German Grammar School (Herder Schule, Wittelsbacher Allee, Frankfurt am Main) during stay in former West Germany from 1979-83. During the same period, passed the following school-leaving exams through correspondence with Patrachar Vidyalaya, Delhi/India: - All India Secondary School Certificate Examination (Class X) in 1981 - All India Senior School Certificate Examination (Class XII) in 1983 Professional Qualifications: Completed B.A. in German Studies in 1987 from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi Completed M.A. in German Studies (with specialisation in translation/interpretation) in 1989 from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi Professional Experience: January 1990 to December 1999 Worked as a German-speaking Secretary to the Resident Representative/Project Director of Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES), New Delhi. FES is a German non-profit funding agency undertaking international development cooperation work in the fields of environment, media, socio-economics, woman and child, regional cooperation, trade unions and others. My area of responsibility covered the discharge of all the secretarial functions within the project, including occasional translation and interpretation. Accompanied delegations of German workers’ federations to business meetings and discussions with workers’ associations and factories in India on 2 different occasions. December 2004 to date: Working full-time as a free-lance German-English translator for more than twelve years now.
