Since 1988, I have been engaged as a Portuguese interpreter at labour conferences/meetings organized by the International Metalworkers Federation, International Chemical Workers Federation, NUMSA. Worked also for the SA Dept of Transport as an interpreter during negotiations with Brazilian and Mozambican counterparts.
Started work as a consecutive interpreter in 1988 with liaison interpreting for SA companies investing and operating in Angola and Mozambique, regarding face to face negotiations between executives and senior and technical staff. Acted also as consecutive interpreter during visits by Portuguese speaking executives to S.Africa, including the representatives from the petro-chemical and sugar industries.
Portuguese interpreter during the Brazilian soccer team’s visit to SA in 1996 for the Nelson Mandela Inauguration Challenge. Accompanied South African delegations representing South African financial institutions during their travels to Angola (1989 to 1995) for private negotiations on certain investment projects (vg. Cabinda Port Project).
