I have been working for The Metropolitan Police Service and BTP since 2005. In that time I have gathered a wide and varied experience. Much of my work has been Police Station Custody work, PACE interviews, charging procedures, solicitor consultations etc. These cases have ranged from simple shoplifting and common assaults right up to serious deceptions and GBH's. I have been assigned to work on a number of complex Rape cases (Sapphire Units) and a number of protracted Murder Investigations (SCD1). I have been taken to Crime Scenes to assist officers with significant witnesses. I have gone out on "Arrest Enquirers" and have assisted at a number of House Searches. I have been accepted onto the UK BA interpreters list. As a result of the Police work, I have done enormous amounts of Court work. Magistrates for first appearances and Trial work at Crown Courts. I have provided interpretation at three full Murder Trials at the Central Criminal Court (Old Bailey). My role in one of these Trials was more challenging as I was acting on behalf of the FLO (Family Liaison Officer). This meant having to deal with some highly charged emotional moments in this Murder Trial with the victim’s family. Similarly I have assisted at the Royal Courts of Justice on numerous appeals and also at the family Division. I have been used to help Probation Service prepare their reports and have attended Solicitors on Legal Visits to Prison. Away from my Criminal work I have prepared translated documents for the Construction Industry and have assisted at an AGM for one firm. I have also assisted with a Primary School in preparation of work for very young Polish children.I have been working with insurance companies in respect of false car accident claims. Civil Lawyers have used me to assist with personal injury claims. This has involved attending complex medical appointments with clients, translating expert reports and attending multi agency case conferences.
