Servicios adicionales: As a medical interpreter, I am ready to offer a range of additional services to enhance the quality of care and improve communication between patients and healthcare providers. Some of these services include:- 1. Cultural Mediation - Explanation of cultural nuances that may affect communication or care. - Helping providers understand patients' cultural attitudes toward illness, treatment, gender roles, and decision-making. 2. Pre- and Post-Session Briefings - Pre-session: Preparing patients by explaining what to expect during the medical appointment. - Post-session: Clarifying or reviewing what was discussed to ensure understanding. 3. Document Translation (Non-certified) - Translating documents (non-legal or non-critical) such as : a) Appointment reminders b) Patient education materials c) Consent forms (only if allowed under guidelines) 4. Health Literacy Support - Simplifying and explaining complex medical terminology or instructions in the patient's preferred language. - Assisting patients in understanding (prescription labels, discharge instructions, & follow-up care plans) 5. Appointment Coordination Support - Helping my clients schedule medical appointments, tests, or follow-up visits. - Clarifying instructions given during calls from medical offices. 6. Advocacy (Within Professional Limits) - Ensuring patients’ concerns are heard and acknowledged. - Politely intervening when misunderstandings or potential patient rights issues arise (while maintaining neutrality). 7. Community Resource Navigation - Directing patients to additional services like: - Social services - Insurance enrollment assistance - Mental health resources - Transportation for medical visits 8. Training and Education - Providing (cultural competency training) for healthcare staff. - Assisting in training new interpreters or acting as a mentor. 9. Telehealth Support - Facilitating remote interpreting through video or phone. - Helping clients access and navigate telehealth platforms.
