Basically I translate on a daily basis, as my life consists of English / Afrikaans and Afrikaans / English, therefore I can say that I have approximately 30+ years experience. I have not translated for Big Companies and Events - although I would love to do so, I think I am good enough to handle any situation.

I started working after school and the thought to go study never even crossed my mind as I could not wait to get into the Big World! I was very surprised to find out that the working environment was basically English, I love the Language, there are words that just roll perfectly over your tongue, and the language makes so much sense. I made an effort to be an "expert" in English - although I am not - I consider myself to be quite good in it. I do as much as I can in English - although I have been working in an Afrikaans environment for the past 10+ years. I am now studying TEFL and speech and Language as I would love to teach other people speak a beautiful language. I pay attention to detail and everyday is a learning curve where I learn new things, new words and new phrases. I generally mostly translate in the environment I move around in - finance, Farming and I am busy starting an NGO for a Business Women, where I also have to interpret most of the phrases as some of the forms received are all done in English and the lady wants to know what the meanings are in English. Hopefully I can be an asset to whomever is interested in giving me a chance!
